I then picked up Math-U-See and I really like that, but I feel the need to supplement it, so I bought some Math Mammoth e-books.

Think about a regular school, though - this isn't even an option for them! At least we can try things, see if they work, if not - move on!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8827307736027843091.post-27282564797429316922010-07-25T16:29:41.226-07:002010-07-25T16:29:41.226-07:00You think elementary is bad. We are in Saxon 7/6 coveting TT 8 for next year, probably will go with the less expensive saxon 8/7. One thing I learned - is just doing a little every day - is the key. Doesn't really matter what the page color or ink color is. :) Having them all - I bet you've seen this :) Hey you could start a new homeschool math program- 5 in a Row Math Styles. :) ha ha ha haPebblekeeper ~ Angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04792217890092486144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8827307736027843091.post-64198794312310009142010-07-25T10:13:23.887-07:002010-07-25T10:13:23.887-07:00I haven't found a good math fit yet. I'm planning to try out Life of Fred this fall with my 8th/9th graders. If that doesn't work out, I'm going to bite the bullet and shell out the money for Teaching Textbooks.

Late on the blog walk, but didn't want to skip you!

~Jenni, TOS CrewbieJennihttp://homeschoolblogger.com/gracelett/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8827307736027843091.post-25120736782033696302010-07-25T04:49:52.196-07:002010-07-25T04:49:52.196-07:00Making Math Meaningful was okay but had some gaps....Making Math Meaningful was okay but had some gaps. MUS in high school taught David mechanics but was weak on reasoning: we have ACT scores to prove it. ;-/ He's working through Jacob's Algebra which I hope will scaffold reasoning.

With Pamela, we are trying RightStart Intermediate--I think it is going to be a good fit and then move onto Jacob's.walkinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05046468024103932112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8827307736027843091.post-68301935792182232722010-07-24T16:52:00.076-07:002010-07-24T16:52:00.076-07:00Math is our struggle. I liked MathUSee but the boys got bored with it and I hated that we couldn't do anything but addition for forever. (mastery vs spiral) Now we do what we want when we want.MasterpieceMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07445418051132395077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8827307736027843091.post-83026330558439953002010-07-24T14:59:06.609-07:002010-07-24T14:59:06.609-07:00We started in Saxon and after Math K, 1, and 2 it ...We started in Saxon and after Math K, 1, and 2 it was not working with my oldest. We switched to MUS and that has been a great fit. I think my next child 'could' have done fine with Saxon, but he's math minded. His sister would have benefitted from waiting to start formal math another year or so. ;)Tristanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14483248387092516827noreply@blogger.com
