2010 Gratitude Challenge - day 12

I am thankful today for my cyber friends...some who I have met in person. Last night I was having trouble thinking of something to be thankful for. For me, it isn't about 'knowing' what you are thankful for but feeling it. (More on that in another post.) Yesterday someone asked me, "Are there people you can be real with?" I thought about it, and maybe it is the fact that you don't SEE them but I have a handful of great cyber friends and those are the ones I can be most real with. I know I already kind of posted this on day 5, but it is the internet that has linked me with some truly unique people. (I mean that as a compliment.) These are folks that either 'get it' or they don't and just say so. There is no reason to be false with them. Some of them I talk on the phone with or IM on a regular basis. So even though I twaddle way too much time away on this machine, I am thankful for this cyberspace, internet, information highway, the Net, the Web, virtual highway, online community...... because it has connected me with some of the best folks I know.

I have some of the best cyber friends ever. When the twins were babies, and I spent all my days with infants, and toddlers, there was a community of twin mothers all sharing my experiences. Now I have homeschooling friends, and that's been a blessing, too. Another great thing about cyber friends. There's always one around, it seems.

There have been many times that I didn't have friends near IRL, so I only had my online community to reach out to. I completely agree that the internet and friendships formed online are a blessing.
